No, This Wasn't Me..

Food:

My best friend and I decided to share a pancake, and we were glad we did. The pancakes were huge; three stacks (perfect thickness on each) and I didn’t get that raw dough/egg smell (a big no-no for pancakes). It also had a generous amount of berries and Orange Mascarpone cream. Neither of us liked the mint leaf on the top of the pancake; it was too chunky and rough textured when it combined together. The La Chicas Steak Sandwich wasn’t too nice (although I love the wasabi mayo); Hero of the dish, which is the beef, was wayyy over-cooked, very chewy and dry. We were slightly confused, because most of the reviews say La Chicas is super spot on. Oh well, we might have been unlucky on that day, but we’re looking forward to go back and give it another try.

Coffee:

They are using All Press Coffee, great coffee but too acidic for my liking ( you must be bored reading my comment about All Press Coffee). The milk was creamy; perfect amount of froth for a flat white and the taste was spot on.

Service:

All the waitresses in La Chicas are fun, friendly, and attentive; lots of interaction with other regular customers on other tables. They all seem to be enjoying their job,know exactly what they were doing and fit perfectly into La Chicas’s characteristic. Food and coffee came very fast.

Venue:

Las Chicas is a cafe with a very strong characteristic. There are four separates sections: the front, the backyard, and two separate sections inside the café itself. First thing I noticed when I walked in: posters filled the main café’s wall; lots of vintage decorations on the shelf near the backyard also. I must say the huge backyard is a big advantage for this place. Especially for smokers! Smoking under a warm heater in cold weather while enjoying a cup of coffee – what more you could ask?
